Email to Adam Roberts. Subject: Hey boo.
Hey Babe, I never know how to word these things right, and I know I need to keep you updated on what’s going on. Today, dad passed, everyone pretty much suspected it so we’re all doing okay. Its always going to hurt when someone passes, but at least he’s in a better place. Right now we’re in the process of finding someone to take over the church, as well as getting the rest of his plans done. He wants to be buried on a Sunday, the day of the Lord; my mother wants to know if you’re coming down for the funeral? If so there is a plane ticket with your name on it, to come down here on Friday night. It would mean a lot if you don’t have any plans or anything stopping you.
I’m planning on moving back with you soon, I just have to clean everything out of the house that my mother doesn’t want, she’s giving Mary the house for the kids, and she’s moving in with her sister. She also gave Mary and my father’s cars. The problem is… I don’t know how to drive so I was going to give it to you, or you can teach me to drive lmao. Or we can trade the ugly thing in for something better. Its all up to you. I better get off here and see what the rest of the family is up to.
So if you can, you have a flight waiting for you Friday morning, Sunday, funeral… Tuesday will stuff, and we have to clean the house out. And possibly my next Friday we can be up and back in Chicago. If you can’t its okay, I promise :] I’ll be up there next week.
Love you. Emily.

3 Doors Down - Behind Those Eyes |
] |
Emily was always the girl that made everyone’s day brighter. She always had a smile on her face and something nice to say. She never disrespected people no matter how much she disliked them. It was just her. She had a personality that shined even through the darkest of days.
Emily James, the daughter of the reverend Samuel James grew up in a very decent household. She always felt that she was too sheltered from the world she always wanted to be in. She grew up on a small farm in Texas right next to the church her father ran. They never had Cable television, let alone any kind of Television; she was never allowed to listen to the radio unless there was some sort of gospel stuff on it. Same with books, magazines, and any kind of friends that thought differently that her father.
Emily was the youngest of 3 girls, He sisters all had different personalities, the oldest Mary ran away when she was 15 and had a child. She is now married and living life happily without her controlling father. The middle Allison, she committed suicide because she couldn’t handle the constant fight with herself. Then there was Emily, daddy’s girl, the hope of the family, until the last few years.
Emily was always the one to ask questions, she loved learning and finding things out. When she broke away from the home schooling life she went to the public high school she learned a lot about other beliefs. Confused she asked as many questions she could about anything she didn’t know. She found out that God, and Christianity may not be true and found more evidence of it not being real that anything else. Now keeping this a secret from her dad she would never be able to attend again if he found out. So she would research at the library and school.
Finally graduation day comes and she finally gets enough guts up to question her dad. In hopes of him giving her the answers she couldn’t find, he didn’t. Emily has lost all hope in the Christian faith that day, she packed her stuff and took off, not really knowing where she was going, or what she would do. She finally started experiencing life, She ended up in California meeting some friends and forming a small band for a little bit. After about 6 months she was not interested in the band anymore. She quit and ended up working at a few retail stores making some money to pay rent and eat.
Just like her sister, Emily constantly battled her heart and mind for what is the real truth behind this whole God ordeal. She feels like she has a calling to Chicago for some reason. With the way she was, she saved her money and moved out here, transferring to the same store in the mall here to begin a new experience all over again.
